Beware of Credit Repair Scams

 

OnlineCreditGuide.net has gone to great lengths to determine whether or not the companies we recommend are professional, reputable firms with reasonable cancellation and refund policies. If for some reason you choose to hire a company outside of our recommendations, beware of the following:

 

Companies that say they can erase your bad credit.

 

-- Accurate, verified information on your credit report will not be removed.

 

Companies that say they can create a new credit identity for you, legally.

 

-- They can't. It is fraud.

 

Companies that guarantee removals.

 

-- Besides the fact that they are typically making that claim without even seeing your credit reports, it is    misleading. They don't know what can be done until they review your report, with you, to determine which    items are questionable.

 

Companies that advise you to dispute items you know are 100% accurate.

 

-- It's fraud. If you follow illegal advice, you are committing fraud as well and may be subject to prosecution.

 

Companies that want you to pay for credit repair service before any services are provided.

 

-- It's illegal. Read the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) and expect that the company you are    considering has too.
